FH supports the EU’s condemnation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

We express our solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who are going to pay a very high price for the Russian aggression.

Russia’s action is not merely a violation of international law and an attack on a sovereign state. It is a full-blown attack on fundamental democratic values.

It is not just the Ukrainian people who will feel the consequences of President Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine. So, will the Russian people.

That is why we are also appealing to our colleagues in the Russian trade union movement: For the sake of peace, for the sake of the Ukrainian workers and not least for the sake of your own members – use your influence towards President Putin. Dissociate yourself from the invasion and attack on Ukraine.

For every hour the invasion continues, the chance of finding a way back to the negotiating table diminishes.

We stand with the people of Ukraine and support the EU’s sanctions against Russia.
